Improving plant profitability by optimizing blower and vacuum systems is the focus of the just-announced inaugural 2018 Best Practices EXPO & Conference, to be held at the Chicago O’Hare Crowne Plaza Conference Center, September 17-19, 2018. Blower & Vacuum Best Practices® Magazine Publisher Rod Smith said, “Identical to our publications, the mission of this event is to help plants increase their profitability by optimizing their industrial utilities. It’s a proven fact blower and vacuum systems offer plants low-hanging fruit to increase productivity and profitability!”

The 3-day four-track conference will convene the leading experts, from the blower and vacuum industry and manufacturing plants, to teach how to optimize pneumatic conveying, aeration blowers and industrial vacuum systems. Roger Blanton, from exhibitor and Gold Sponsor, Howden Roots, said, “Selecting the correct blower is the most important decision when designing a pneumatic conveying system.” Industrial vacuum systems also represent a whole new frontier for Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs). Joe Legere, Executive Vice President at Modern Woodcrafts said, “Strong, consistent vacuum pressure enables us to work faster and more precisely.”

The EXPO floor will feature approximately 60 booths displaying the technologies needed to optimize blower & vacuum systems. Smith said, “We’d like to thank our Sponsors and are honored and motivated by the industry’s support of this new event.”

Event Sponsors

  • Diamond: Atlas Copco, Kaeser Compressors
  • Platinum: BEKO Technologies, ELGI Compressors, Gardner Denver, Hertz Kompressoren, Parker GSF, PneuTech, Sullair
  • Gold: Applied System Technologies, Atlas Machine, FS-Curtis, Howden Roots, Sullivan-Palatek, VP Instruments
  • Silver: CDI Meters, Compressed Air and Gas Institute

Additional exhibitors from the blower and vacuum industry are Harris Equipment (Tuthill distributor), Busch Vacuum Pumps and Systems and Solberg Manufacturing.

Blower and vacuum systems have a significant impact on energy use in a factory. “The centrifugal blower and air knife system results in a staggering 70% reduction in energy consumption vs. a compressed air system,” said Adam Fehr from Valley Packline Solutions.

The event will also dedicate exhibit floor space and conference time to optimizing compressed air, cooling and chiller systems.
